Nirupa
Naik born in the picturesque village of Savoi Verem has been deeply influenced
by her surroundings of hills, trees and ponds which all form part of nature.
This breath of clear fresh air untouched by the
city fumes seen very heavily in her earlier works still form the ways
of her canvases today. Her recent creations show the appearance of the
human figure.
She has participated in major art exhibitions at various Art Galleries
since 1976. Her talent was rewarded early by an invitation by the Lalit
Kala Academy, Delhi for an international artists' camp, held in Goa.
A graduate from the University of Bombay, Nirupa
Naik is presently working as a designer at the Design & Development centre,
Govt of Goa.
